According to the Bible, Noah was a righteous man who lived in a time when the world was filled with violence and corruption. God decided to send a great flood to destroy all living creatures and start anew. However, God chose to spare Noah and his family, along with a pair of every kind of animal, by instructing him to build an ark.
The construction of the ark
Noah obeyed God’s command and built the ark with specific instructions. The ark was made of gopher wood and measured 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. It had three decks, and Noah was commanded to coat it with pitch inside and out.
The flood

This time, the dove did not return, and Noah knew that the land was dry.
