The Background of Romans
The book of Romans is a letter written by the apostle Paul to the church in Rome. At the time, Rome was the center of the world, and the church was made up of Jews and Gentiles who were struggling to live together in harmony. He writes, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2).
